Summary
On May 27th, 2025, Ominya Initiative for Peace and Community Development, in partnership with the Child and Youth Protection Foundation, Daniel Damilare Peace Foundation, and Adolescents and Youth Wellbeing Initiative (AYWIN), convened a powerful Community-Based Child Rights Awareness Outreach in Lugbe, FCT Abuja — reaching over 500 children, teens, and community stakeholders.
This event wasn’t just a gathering — it was a movement.
From breakout sessions and interactive learning to stakeholder dialogues and educational material distribution, the outreach created a safe, inclusive space where children were heard, empowered, and educated about their rights.

Why This Matters
Children in underserved communities like Lugbe often lack access to basic rights education, support systems, and protection mechanisms. This outreach helped bridge that gap — but our work is far from over.
